Easter...9 Months Old

This was our first Easter as parents and we had a good time. Tyler decided to spend the night with us at the last minute so the Easter Bunny had to run out the night before to get eggs to hide. She already shopped for his Easter basket but didn't get any eggs because she thought Tyler was going to be at his mom's. Tyler was pretty excited when he realized that the Easter Bunny left two Easter baskets in the backyard and that there were eggs! Bill, Alex and I helped Tyler search for eggs. I was very surprised that a few eggs were unseen by the two and I had to point them out. Tyler was very sweet by sharing some of his eggs with Alex since Alex only enjoyed sucking on one eggs. (I have pictures on Bill's phone but I don't have access to them at the moment.) This is the only picture I have on my phone.)

I enjoy when Tyler spends the night at our house. Something about life "feels right" when he is over. One of his buddies from his baseball team lives around the corner, so now he has a friend within bike riding distance. It makes me smile when Jack, Tyler's friend comes over to ask Tyler to play.

I had to add this picture to the blog...I just love when Alex sleeps with his bottom in the air. I can't resist cupping it when I check in on him before I go to bed!

Let me out!

Alex has been on the move for a month or two...but has really gotten quick this past month. He doesn't have a coordinated crawl but more of a commando crawl. His teachers have informed me that he always heads for the classroom door and gets irritated when one of the teachers closes the door when he gets near it. Bill and I have experienced this at home as well. He is always venturing out of the room when he isn't trying to crawl on his.

Tuesday night, I stepped outside to get the grill going and turned around to look at our storm door. Here was Alex sucking on the glass! I tried to get a picture of him sucking on the glass, however I wasn't successful. (yes, he still has a little bit of dinner on his face.)

Sleeping

Alex has been sick this week with an ear infection and goopy eyes. No fun, I know. He has been taking an antibiotic for the ear infection and eye drops. Since he's been sick, he had two nights of interrupted sleep. The past two nights he was back to falling asleep by 7 pm then waking up around 8 am. This morning I took him to school so I had to wake him up at 7. He is really on the mend! I love, LOVE it when he sleeps with his bottom in the air! (yes, I still have bumpers in his crib. He sleeps so much better with them in...he likes to hang on to them and rest his head.)

8 Months Old

Alex turned 8 months old on Friday! I cannot believe that we will be celebrating his first birthday in less then four months! My baby is getting big!
Since Tyler was on Spring Break, we spent a long weekend at a friend's ranch. Alex loved Ranger...the dog and would follow him everywhere.

Work has never been so much fun!

I brought Alex to work with me this past Friday. I was taking a half day because we were driving to Austin for the weekend so I thought it would be fun to bring him with me. Of course, we played pass the baby which made Alex pretty tired. So, I set up a nice dark cozy place for him to take a nap.

The weekend was a lot of fun! We went to my sister's house so the cousins could meet and play. Saturday night we met up with Bill's grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousins. We had a great time. Here's a picture of Alex, Tyler, Grandmommy and Grandaddy. This picture was taken after Alex had gone to bed, woken up to us inspecting his ears for ear infections. He was surprisingly in a decent mood. He is such a good baby!

Shopping

Alex and I went shopping on Sunday when we had a little problem. I always carry Alex in the Baby Bjorn but when I found a pair of shoes I wanted to try on, I found it a little difficult. So, I put Alex in the shopping cart. He has never really sat up on his own because he wants to be crawling instead of sitting still. I was so surprised when he held on to the shopping cart like a big boy! I spent about 10 minutes trying to get a decent picture of him...but he was too busy looking at this, or looking at that. I was pretty tickled and so where the TJMaxx workers. Two of the employees were trying to get Alex to look at me, but we weren't not very successful.

Update...finally, right?

Sorry, it has been a couple weeks since the last update. A quick recap, Alex is SO close to crawling. He is a little inch worm but he can get from point A to point B and he can switch directions real fast. He also has his two bottom teeth and I'm expecting to see his top ones in the next couple weeks.

Gandma and Paw Paw came in town last weekend. We had a great time!

These pictures were taken at Alex's school. He is on the Bye Bye Buggy. The very first time I saw him on this buggy, I couldn't stop laughing. The teachers tell me everytime that he LOVES the buggy! He is so observant and really takes everything in. As you can see, he is the only one moving around...all the others are just hanging out.
