Hi

So, Market started last Wednesday and just ended yesterday. Since I worked the entire weekend, Bill and Alex had lots of quality time together. When I got home on Sunday, they were playing in our bedroom. I joined in on the fun and took a quick picture with my phone during a snack break.

For the past couple of weeks, I've been trying to teach Alex to wave. Sometimes he seemed to understand but he would move his arm like he was slapping his knee. Other times he just ignored me. I even got Bill involved in this task. Every time Bill got home from work or after kissing Alex goodnight, Bill would give Alex a big exaggerated wave. Well, I think it has paid off! Two nights ago, I was feeding Alex dinner in his highchair when Bill got home. Alex heard Bill and raised his arm and did a big wave! At first I wasn't sure what he was doing because he was moving his arm up and down in the air, but I figured it was his wave. We were both so surprised! Alex must have figured out that he did something good because as I was snuggling with him before putting him in bed, he still was waving at his bedroom door. It was so sweet! I will try to get a video of it. I love how we continues to surprise us!

11 Months Old!

Alex turned 11 months old on Saturday! I CANNOT believe that we will have a 1 year old this time next month. Time has truly flown by! I remember asking my sister multiple times what part of my nephew's 1st year was her favorite...she always replied "this is my favorite stage" meaning right then. Each time was a new stage in Jack's development so she never really had a specific time that was her favorite! I can easily say that I agree with her! I loved when Alex was born and his newborn stage, but then he developed a personality by smiling, then learned to "commando" crawl, pull up, talk and etc. Just when I think I cannot enjoy him more than I currently do, I get pleasantly surprised. His new favorite tasks are blowing raspberries...well, maybe that's my favorite. We will take turns giving each other raspberries and it warms my heart each time he gives me one and smiles. (Yes, I turned on the cheese but it is so sweet!) He also enjoys opening and closing doors and cabinets right now. See for yourself!

We spent Saturday afternoon in the backyard playing in the kiddie pool. He loved it!

Big Boy!

I was able to catch Alex at snack time on Friday. I tried to sneak in without him seeing me because I figured he would squirm his way out of his chair when he saw me...but I thought wrong. He sat so patiently at the table eating his snack. He let me leave the room and come back without having to follow me. Makes me a little sad that he is getting a little independent already. He has become such a big boy!

Speed Crawler

Alex has became a speedy little devil! His actions have become more coordinated and he is SUPER busy all of the time. He is so mobile, his school already moved him up to the next room. His last room all the babies reminded me of Cabbage Patch Kid dolls because they sat around the room while Alex zoomed past them and tried to escape through the door whenever someone would open it. Now in his new room, they are all rug rats zooming here and zooming there. Yesterday when I went to pick him up, he was sitting at the table in a toddle chair with two other little ones. He looked like such a big boy! I ran out to my car to grab my phone so I could take a picture but by the time I returned, he was already crawling all over the room. Oh well, hopefully I can sneak a picture of him having his snack at the table today.
